Casa Cedro is located in friendly Yelapa, Jalisco, Mexico, just a 30 minute ponga (boat) ride southwest of Puerto Vallarta and the Puerto Vallarta Airport, officially known as the Gustavo Diaz International Airport. Yelapa village sits on the Bay of Banderas, at the edge of a rugged jungle teeming with tropical flora and fauna. Accessible by boat only, Yelapa has no roads or cars, only meandering walking and hiking trails throughout the village.

Beautiful flowering trees, coconut palms, flocks of colorful parrots, huge military macaws, pelicans and other aquatic birds, diving for fish, are all seen while walking through Yelapa, Jalisco. Native plants and herbs are abundant and varied, including many used by the locals for healing. Yelapa is lush with fruit trees: papayas, mangoes, limes, passion fruit and bananas. It’s common to see dolphins and whales swimming in the Bay of Banderas.

Visitors to the Yelapa will want to bring a sweater, pants, and flashlight for the evenings. Binoculars are helpful for dolphin and whale watching, the spectacular views, and for sighting all the other colorful life in Yelapa, Mexico.
